Normally, workers compensation benefits includes rehabilitation expenses, medical care, disability coverage to compensate for lost wages etc. If you are injured in work place, you can get the compensation benefits through the employer’s workers compensation insurance. Medical Benefits

Hospital and medical expenses usually cover in worker’s compensation plans. Injury in work location or illness comes under the medical benefits. Doctor’s visits, Medication and surgeries is covered in workers compensation cases, although the compensation procedures varies in each state. If you need any special equipment like wheel chair to help you deal with the injury, workers compensation will cover those costs. Certain services like pain therapy, acupuncture, and counselling also comes under workers compensation plans. Disability Benefits

Disability benefits covers under the cases when you are unable to work. This is to compensate you for the wages lost while you are impossible to work due to injury or illness. Disabilities can come under various categories like temporary or permanent, Total or partial.

Temporary Total Disability: Majority of workers compensation disabilities falls under this category. ie, you are not able to work now. But will be able to work some day.

Temporary Partial Disability: You can do parts of your job now. And will be able to do all jobs in some day, as you did before injury.

Permanent Total Disability: If you are unable to work at your job.

Permanent Partial Disability: Only partially impairs your ability to work.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation benefits cover the training necessary for you to regain the skills and abilities you need to return to work. This covers the evaluation, retraining, tuition, and other expenses associated with helping you to become qualified to work at a different job.

Death

The major purpose of this is to compensate dependent family members for the loss of financial support provided by the worker.  It’s beneficial to the spouse, child, parent, or sibling of the effected person.
